CardioVet VetEXPERT 90 tabs
The drug is intended for adult dogs with problems with the cardiovascular system. It can be used as an adjunct to the main drug treatment and as a mono drug in the early stages of diseases of the cardiovascular system.
The main indications for the use of the drug are cardiomyopathy (damage to the heart muscle, characterized by dystrophic and sclerotic processes in the tissues of the heart, progressive heart failure, and arrhythmia) and nocardiosis (a degenerative disease of the heart valves, mainly of the mitral valve).
The drug allows you to regulate the level of calcium in the blood, which prevents the formation of plaques on the walls of the valves, regulates the frequency of contractions of the heart muscle, and has an antiarrhythmic effect.
Before using the drug, it is recommended to consult a veterinarian.
The main active ingredients of the drug are:
L-carnitine is a quaternary amine composed of lysine and methionine. Its main function is the metabolism of long-chain fatty acids and the production of energy. 95% of the total carnitine present in the body is located in the myocardium, which proves that one of its functions is to provide energy for the constant pumping activity of the heart. L-carnitine supplementation may help protect the myocardium from excess fatty acid accumulation within myocardial cells.
Taurine is one of the essential substances for a healthy heart metabolism. It plays a key role in myocardial metabolism by regulating calcium ion levels and osmotic potential and neutralizing free radicals. It also makes up 40% of the free amino acids in the myocardium. Taurine has antiarrhythmic properties, it regulates the number of heart contractions depending on the level of calcium ions, and it also ensures the integrity of myocardial cells.
Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is essential for the body’s energy production process. It is also a natural antioxidant in the mitochondria, where a large number of free radicals are produced due to the intense production of the energy required for the heart to function.
Selenium is an integral part of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which is involved in antioxidant mechanisms. Its functions are highly dependent on vitamin E. The main function of selenium is to prevent the effects of oxidative stress, which is one of the key elements in the pathogenesis of dilated cardiomyopathy.
Vitamin E (in combination with selenium) is a strong antioxidant that protects against over-contraction of heart endothelial cells. Vitamin E also reduces platelet adhesion and aggregation in the coronary arteries, which promotes blood flow through the vessels that feed the heart.
