Liquid white or light yellow, homogeneous.
Pharmacological properties
Megestrol acetate is a synthetic progestogen that blocks the secretion of follicle-stimulating and luteinizing hormones produced by the anterior pituitary gland.
Lack of these hormones delays the maturation of follicles in the ovaries of females and ovulation, stops heat and sexual desire. Affects the endometrium of the uterus and causes its secretory phase, which inhibits the implantation of the embryo and provides the contraceptive effect of the drug.
In males, it blocks testosterone synthesis, which reduces sexual activity and associated anxiety, irritability, and aggressive behavior.
It is rapidly adsorbed in the intestine and reaches its maximum concentration in the blood 3 hours after consumption. Biotransformed in the liver and excreted within 1-2 days in the form of metabolites in the urine.
Method of application and dosage
The drug is administered orally with food or forcibly on the root of the tongue.

Reservation
With prolonged use of the drug may change the character of the animal, increase the mammary glands, increase appetite and weight gain.
After the last application of the drug, slaughter of pigs for meat is allowed after 14 days. Meat obtained before this date is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
Indication
Used for cats and bitches to prevent or terminate heat and / or prevent unwanted pregnancies, cats and males – to suppress sexual desire, correct unwanted behavior (increased excitability, aggression, tendency to wander, etc.), female pigs – to prevent heat and / or blue sexual desire.
Contraindication
Do not prescribe to animals with diseases of the genital system (pyometra, metritis, endometritis, etc.), in the presence of breast tumors and diabetes, as well as immature, pregnant and lactating animals. Do not use the drug if more than 3 days have passed since the onset of heat, and young animals in the first heat due to the difficulty of determining the beginning of the cycle.
Storage conditions

After opening the vial, store the drug tightly closed in the refrigerator and use for 1 month.
