Description
Ointment from light yellow to yellow-brown color.

Storage
1 g of the drug contains the active substance:

oxytetracycline hydrochloride – 10 mg.

Excipients: anthracin-55, lanolin, vaseline.

Pharmacological properties
The ointment has pronounced bacteriostatic properties, which are due to the action of oxytetracycline – an antibiotic with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial action, active against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pasteurella Rla, and Salte, R). spp., some species of Chlamydia spp. and Mycoplasma spp., inactive against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Oxytetracycline enters the cells of microorganisms due to diffusion and partly through active transport. The action of oxytetracycline is due to impaired protein synthesis due to blockade of ribosome function in drug-sensitive microorganisms.

Application
Treatment of cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats and rabbits with conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcers and other eye diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to oxytetracycline.

Dosage
The ointment is applied with a glass spatula or injected through a cannula with a syringe-tube (securely fix the animal’s head) for the lower eyelid 1-2 times a day until recovery.

Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to oxytetracycline.
