Composition and form of release
An insecticidal agent containing 10% imidacloprid as an active ingredient: 1- (6-chloro-3-pyredylmethyl) -N-nitro-imidazolidine-2 (or deniamine) and auxiliary components. It is a clear liquid from yellow to brown in color with a weak specific odor. The package contains 4 pieces of 0.4 ml polyethylene tube-pipettes.
Pharmacological properties
Imidacloprid, which is part of the drug, has a pronounced systemic and contact insecticidal effect on lice, fleas and lice, ensuring the death of insects within 4 weeks after a single treatment of animals. According to the degree of toxic effect on the body, Advantage belongs to the group of low-hazard substances, in the recommended doses it does not have a skin irritating, resorptive-toxic, embryotoxic, teratogenic, mutagenic and sensitizing effect. The drug is well tolerated by dogs and cats at a therapeutic dose and 10 times its dose.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of entomoses (lice, fleas, lice) in cats weighing up to 4 kg.
Doses and method of administration
Before processing, remove the protective cap from the pipette tube, put it on from the reverse side and, turning, pierce the protective membrane of the pipette nose, after which the cap is removed again. In cats, the hair on the back of the head is pushed apart and then, pressing the pipette twice, apply the solution to the skin in places inaccessible for licking. One pipette tube is used per animal. The death of insects parasitizing on the animal occurs within 12 hours after treatment. The protective effect of the drug after a single treatment of the animal lasts for 4 weeks. Repeated processing of animals is carried out according to entomological indications, but not more often than once a month.
Side effects
In rare cases, after using the drug, individual skin reactions (redness, itching) are possible, which spontaneously disappear and do not require the use of drugs.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug. It is forbidden to use kittens under 10 weeks of age and puppies under 8 weeks of age. Treatment of pregnant and lactating animals, if necessary, should be carried out with caution under the supervision of a veterinarian.
special instructions
It is forbidden to smoke, drink or eat during the procedure. At the end of the procedure, you should wash your hands with warm water and soap. In case of accidental contact of the drug on the skin or mucous membranes, it should be immediately washed off with a stream of water. It is not recommended to wash, iron and let the animal near small children within 24 hours after treatment with the drug. Empty tube-pipettes from under the drug must not be used for domestic purposes, they are thrown into waste containers.
