Pharmacological properties
Fungin forte refers to combined antifungal drugs.
Terbinafine is an antifungal agent of the allylamine group, active against pathogens of dermatomycoses in animals. The mechanism of action is to suppress squalene epoxidase in the cell membrane of the fungus. This leads to ergosterol deficiency and intracellular accumulation of squalene, which causes cell death of the pathogen. Depending on the concentration, terbinafine has a fungicidal or fungistatic effect. Due to the high lipophilicity of terbinafine molecules accumulate in the stratum corneum of the dermis, hair follicles, sebaceous glands; when applied topically to the systemic circulation, the drug penetrates insignificantly.
Thiabendazole is a fungicide from the azole class. Active against pathogens of trichophytia and microspores of animals of the genera Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton, Achorion. Like other azoles, it blocks the activity of enzymes involved in the 14-demstylation of lanosterol, which leads to disruption of ergosterol synthesis. Changing the structure of the cytoplasmic membrane of fungal cells leads to a violation of its permeability, the release of biologically active substances from the cell and the destruction of the cell wall. In addition, thiabendazole disrupts the division of the nucleus, inhibits the reproductive capacity of fungi.
Metronidazole is a drug from the group of nitroimidazoles. The mechanism of action is the biochemical reduction of the 5-nitro group of metronidazole by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic microorganisms and protozoa. The reduced 5-nitro group of metronidazole interacts with the DNA of the bacterial cell, inhibiting the synthesis of nucleic acids, which leads to the death of the microorganism.
Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid, a methylated derivative of fluoroprednisolone. Has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, desensitizing, immunosuppressive, antishock and antitoxic effects, increases the sensitivity of beta-blockers to endogenous catecholamines. The mechanism of action of dexamethasone is to suppress the activity of various enzymes that destroy tissues – proteases and nucleases, matrix metalloproteinases, hyaluronidase, phospholipase, inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, kinins, leukotrienes and other mediators of inflammatory arachidinate.
Lidocaine – has a local anesthetic effect, blocks potential-dependent heating channels, which prevents the generation of impulses at the ends of sensitive nerves and the conduction of impulses through nerve fibers.
Fungin forte by the degree of impact on the body is a low-risk substance (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in the recommended doses does not have a local irritant, resorptive-toxic and sensitizing effect. Causes slight eye irritation.
