Description:
The tablets are light yellow.
Composition:
Tablets of the drug are produced in weight of 0.7; 0.175 g.
One tablet weighing 0.7 g contains active ingredients:
fenbendazole – 150.0 mg,
pyrantela pamoat (embonate) – 144.0 mg,
praziquantel – 50.0 mg;
one tablet weighing 0.175 g contains active ingredients:
praziquantel – 37.5 mg,
pyrantela pamoat (emboat) – 36.0 mg,
febantel – 12.5 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
ATCvet: QP52A veterinary anthelmintic drugs; protrematode, protynematode and proticestodal veterinary drugs.
A wide range of anthelmintic action on round and tape helminths is based on the pharmacological action of the components of the drug: fenbedazol, pyrantela emboat, praziquantel.
Fenbendazole (a group of benzimidazoles) inhibits the polymerization of tubulin proteins into microtubulins, reduces the activity of energy enzymes, which causes the death of parasites from exhaustion.
Has a high anthelmintic activity and a wide spectrum of action, destroys the larvae of mature nematodes, some types of cestodes, trematodes and their eggs.
Pyrantel pamoate (embonate) (a group of tetrahydropyrimidines) is active against nematodes (round helminths), affects their cholinergic receptors, which leads to irreversible spastic paralysis of parasites.
Praziquantel is active against cestodes (tapeworms), increases the permeability of membranes for calcium ions, causes an increase in muscle activity, which is replaced by muscle contraction and spastic paralysis, and causes destruction of the outer coating of adult forms of cestodes.
Caniverm tablets for vet. wick. according to the degree of effect on the body, it belongs to low-toxic substances (safety class 4).
In recommended doses, it does not have a sensitizing, embryotoxic and teratogenic effect.
Application:
Deworming of dogs and cats in case of defeat by round and tape helminths: Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxocaris leonine, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostom scaninum, Trichuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosus, Tappinococcus multilocularis, Dipoppice.
Dosage:
Orally. The tablets are administered to the animals separately or mixed with the feed. In the following doses:
puppies, small dogs and cats:
1 tablet (0.175 g) per 0.5-2 kg of body weight;
0.5 tablets (0.7 g) or 2 tablets (0.175 g) per 2-5 kg of body weight;
medium dogs:
1 tablet (0.7 g) or 4 tablets (0.175 g) per 5-10 kg of body weight;
big dogs:
1 tablet (0.7 g) for every 10 kg of body weight.
Do not administer the drug to animals at the same time as milk feed. Tablets for animals in the zoo, circus, nurseries can be crushed and fed with minced meat in a dose according to the body weight of the animals. Deworming of young animals can be carried out at the age of 3-12 weeks. A single dose is given at three week intervals and then every three months.
Contraindications:
It is not recommended to use simultaneously with drugs based on piperazine and other antiparasitic drugs.
Do not use weakened and sick animals (especially with cysticercosis of the eyes, neurocysticercosis of the spinal cord), animals with liver diseases.
Caveats:
In animals with severe invasions, a few hours after administration of the drug, side effects such as vomiting, fever, softening of feces can be observed. These symptoms arise due to the death of helminths in the body of animals, and not as a result of the action of the drug. The drug may cause drowsiness in animals.
