Ciprovet eye drops 10 ml (ciprofloxacin)
Composition and pharmacological properties
The main active ingredient of Ciprovet drops is ciprofloxacin. This tool has anti-inflammatory and bactericidal properties. “Ciprovet” has an extended antimicrobial effect, demonstrates high efficiency against most gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, including mycoplasmas, chlamydia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and strains resistant to gentamicin and methicillin. Ciprofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase of microorganisms (topoisomerase) of the X-enzyme. As a result, DNA is destroyed and bacteria die. When applied topically, this drug penetrates well into the anterior chamber and cornea of the eye, especially if the epithelial layer of the latter is destroyed.
Indications for use
“Ciprovet” is recommended for the prevention and treatment of infectious inflammatory diseases of the eyes and their appendages in cats and dogs. The drug is used for conjunctivitis (chronic, acute), keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, blepharitis, septic iridocyclitis, corneal ulcers. These drops are suitable for combating infectious eye diseases that cannot be treated with other antibacterial agents. “Ciprovet” is recommended for the prevention of eye infections after injury and the ingress of foreign bodies into them. It is also used in eye surgery for the prevention and treatment of pre-and postoperative infectious complications.
Contraindications
It is not recommended to use “Ciprovet” for cats or other animals with individual sensitivity to fluoroquinolones. The remedy is not prescribed for puppies and kittens under one week of age. This drug should be used with caution to treat animals with cerebrovascular accidents or cerebral atherosclerosis.
Side effects
When using the product according to the instructions, complications and side effects are not observed. In rare cases, “Ciprovet” can provoke slight hyperemia and soreness of the conjunctiva, lacrimation, and itching, which disappear after 5 minutes.
Doses and order of administration
The agent has injected into the affected eye 1-2 drops four times a day for 1-2 weeks. The duration of the therapeutic course depends on the severity of the disease.

In the presence of abundant mucopurulent or purulent discharge, 3-4 drops of this agent are injected, then all crusts and secretions are removed with the help of a gauze swab. Re-enter 1-2 drops of the drug for therapeutic purposes. If necessary, the therapeutic course is repeated.

It is necessary to store the drug out of the reach of animals and children, protected from moisture and the sun, separately from food and products. Recommended temperature – + 5 … + 25 ° С.
