Amidel-Gel (amitraz, methyluracil, lidocaine hydrochloride)
Medical gel for dogs Amidel-Gel 10 ml.
Composition (ml): amitraz – 3 mg; methyluracil – 25 mg; lidocaine hydrochloride – 50 mg.
Dosage form: gel for external use.
Features and Benefits:
It has a contact and systemic effect, is active against all phases of development of sarcoptoid and demodectic mites;
Has an anesthetic effect with a powerful antipruritic effect;
Accelerates the processes of wound healing and hair restoration;
Auxiliary components have the ability to deeply conduct medicinal substances through the skin, enhancing the therapeutic effect, which makes it possible to reduce the toxic load on the animal’s body;
The gel base of the preparation is 2 – 3 times more effective than aqueous emulsions.
Pharmacological properties:
Amitraz, which is part of the drug, is active against larval and mature phases of development of sarcoptoid (Sarcoptes canis, Notoedres cati, Otodectes cynotis) and demodectic (Demodex canis) ticks parasitizing dogs and cats. By blocking the octopaminergic receptors of arthropods, it causes excessive excitement, tremors and death of ticks. Lidocaine hydrochloride has a local anesthetic effect with a pronounced antipruritic effect. Methyluracil, possessing anabolic and anti-catabolic activity, accelerates wound healing processes, stimulates cellular and humoral defense factors. When applied to the skin, the drug is practically not absorbed and has an acaricidal effect in places where mites are localized – on the skin, in the hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Amidel-gel, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have a local irritant, resorptive-toxic, sensitizing, embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic effect. Well tolerated by dogs and cats of different breeds and ages.
Indications:
Used to treat dogs and cats with notoedrosis, sarcoptic mange, otodectosis and demodicosis.
Applications and dosage:
In case of sarcoptic mange, demodectic mange and notoedrosis, apply a thin layer to the affected areas previously cleaned of scabs and crusts, at the rate of 0.5 ml / kg of animal weight, evenly distributing from the periphery to the center with the capture of healthy skin up to 1 cm. muzzle, neck collar or close the jaws with a loop of tape, which are removed 20-30 minutes after applying the gel. The treatment is carried out 2 – 5 times with an interval of 5 – 7 days until the animal’s clinical recovery, which is confirmed by two negative results of microscopic studies. Animals with extensive skin lesions are treated in two doses with an interval of one day, applying the gel first on one half of the affected surface of the body, then on the other.
For acarosis complicated by a bacterial infection, the use of immunomodulating and antibacterial agents is recommended.
With the ear form of scabies, the external auditory canal is cleaned of scabs and crusts with a swab dipped in the gel, then 0.5 – 2.0 ml of gel is injected into each ear (depending on the size of the animal). For a more complete treatment of the entire surface of the ear and the auditory canal, the auricle is folded in half and its base is lightly massaged. The treatment is carried out 1 – 2 times with an interval of 5 – 7 days, in advanced cases complicated by otitis media, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed.
If necessary, repeat the course of treatment. Amidel-gel must be injected into both ears, even if only one ear is affected by otodectosis!
Contraindications:
Increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including a history);
Do not use Amidel-gel in kittens and puppies under 2 months of age;
Do not use in pregnant and lactating females, sick with infectious diseases, convalescent and malnourished animals;
Amidel gel should not be used concurrently with other acaricidal agents for treating animals.

In sealed manufacturer’s packaging, separately from food and feed, in a dry, dark place at temperatures from 0 ° C to 25 ° C. The medicinal product should be stored out of the reach of children and animals.
