NexGard is a modern effective insectoacaricidal preparation for systemic action against fleas and ticks in the form of chewable tablets for dogs.

A drug is an innovative form of protection against fleas and ticks in dogs. It contains a new active ingredient – afoxolaner. The tablets have a mouth-watering beef aroma and flavor and are well-eaten by dogs. Very easy to use. The preparation is suitable for puppies over 8 weeks old and weighing more than 2 kg, as well as for adult dogs. Available in four dosages to suit different sizes and breeds of dogs.

Pharmacological properties

The agent has a pronounced insectoacaricidal activity against larval and sexually mature phases of parasite development

Included in the drug afoxolaner is an insectoacaricide of the isoxazoline group. Afoxolaner blocks GABA-dependent arthropod receptors, and also creates hyperexcitation of neurons, impaired transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of parasites.

Indications

It is prescribed for dogs for the treatment and prevention of tick infestation with Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes holocyclus, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Amblyomma americanis.

Mode of application

The drug is prescribed for dogs for the treatment and prevention of tick infestation (Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes scapularis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Amblyomma americanum and Haemaphysalis longicornis) and fleas (feltenocephalides. The drug can also be used in the treatment of flea allergic dermatitis.

The drug is effective within 30 minutes after application and is active for a month. Full protection is guaranteed 4 hours after application.

NexGard is generally well-eaten by dogs. If this does not happen, the product is fed along with the feed. Re-treatments should be carried out monthly during the season of parasite activity. The dog can be bathed and washed with shampoo immediately after using the drug. This does not affect the effectiveness of the protection.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the drug. Do not give the remedy to sick and weakened dogs, puppies up to 8 weeks old or weighing less than 2 kg, as well as animals of other species.

Structure

The main substance is afoxolaner, the auxiliary substances are corn starch, soy protein flour, an additive with the flavor of beef stew.

Release form

Oral chewable tablets. The tablets are packed in blisters of 3 pieces.

For dogs of various body weights, tablets are produced according to:

• 0.5 g (11 mg) – for dogs weighing 2-4 kg
• 1.25 g (28 mg) – for dogs weighing 4-10 kg
• 3.0 g (68 mg) – for dogs weighing 10-25 kg
• 6.0 g (136 mg) – for dogs weighing 25-50 kg.

Storage conditions

Store in closed manufacturer’s packaging at temperatures from 0 ° C to 30 ° C, protected from light, dry place, separate from food and feed.
